Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how TheVideoGen ("TheVideoGen," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use our websites, apps, APIs, catalog, agent chat, and generation services (the "Service"). It works together with our Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

Account and identity. When you sign in with Google (or another provider we enable), we receive identifiers such as your name, email address, profile image, and provider account ID. We may also store your plan tier and organization membership.

Content you provide. Prompts, chat messages, project briefs, shot plans / prompt packs, uploaded references (images, video, audio, documents), character or look packs, search queries, remix settings, and feedback.

Generation and product data. Job IDs, model/provider selection, resolution and duration settings, status logs, error traces, credit or usage consumption, and generated outputs or previews needed to show results in your projects.

Technical data. IP address, device/browser type, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, referrer, performance metrics, cookie or local storage identifiers, and security logs (including rate-limit and abuse signals).

Billing data. If you purchase a plan or credits, our payment processor collects payment method details. We typically receive limited billing metadata (e.g. customer ID, last four digits, subscription status)—not full card numbers.

Communications. Support emails, dispute notices, and survey responses.

3. How we use information

• Authenticate you and maintain sessions.
• Provide catalog search, remix, agent chat, and generation workflows.
• Persist projects, history, and assets you choose to keep.
• Operate queues, meters, billing, and customer support.
• Secure the Service—detect abuse, fraud, spam, rights violations, and infrastructure attacks.
• Improve reliability and product quality (e.g. debugging failed jobs, understanding feature usage in aggregate).
• Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
• Send service-related notices (security, billing, material policy changes).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your private project content to train public foundation models unless we clearly ask and you opt in.

4. Model providers and processing of prompts / media

To generate video or images, we send necessary prompts, references, and parameters to model runtimes—self-hosted workers and/or third-party APIs. Those processors receive only what is required for the job and are bound by contracts or provider terms.

Catalog reference media is used to help you direct generation. We do not treat catalog source films as yours, and we do not sell personal data derived from your searches.

5. How we share information

We may share personal information with:

• Service providers that host infrastructure, databases, object storage, auth, email, analytics, error monitoring, or payments—under confidentiality and data-processing terms.
• Model / inference providers needed to fulfill a generation you request.
• Organization admins if you join a team workspace (they may see membership, usage, and shared project content).
• Professional advisors (legal, accounting) under confidentiality.
• Authorities when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
• Successors in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy or equivalent protections.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and local storage for authentication, preferences (e.g. theme, sidebar), and basic product analytics. You can control cookies through your browser; disabling essential cookies may break sign-in or session features.

7. Data retention

• Account profile data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, billing disputes, and legal compliance.
• Project messages, uploads, and outputs remain until you delete them or close your account, subject to backup cycles and legal holds.
• Job logs and queue artifacts may be retained for operations, abuse prevention, and debugging according to internal retention windows.
• When you delete content or close an account, we will delete or de-identify personal data within a commercially reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or needed for dispute resolution / security.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, rate limiting, and least-privilege practices for production systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Report suspected vulnerabilities to security@thevideogen.com.

9. International transfers

We may process data in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location (including GDPR/UK GDPR and CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to:

• Access a copy of personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete personal information (subject to legal exceptions).
• Export data in a portable format.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do not sell personal information).
• Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
• Appeal a denied privacy request where required by law.

To exercise rights, email privacy@thevideogen.com. We may need to verify your identity. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

California residents may designate an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Do Not Track

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. There is no consistent industry standard for responding; we currently treat DNT like other browsers unless a legal requirement applies.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will post the revised version with an updated "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where required by law. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
