TheVideoGen is a reference-led AI video tool. You search a cinematic catalog, pin stills, plan shots with an agent, and generate short clips. Creator plans and above can connect over MCP. Generate is metered. Free accounts can browse and search (5 searches per day) and cannot generate.

Job create / status / asset URL. Same entitlements as the app. Not a second unlimited pipe.

Honest limits

  • Free: no keys, no generate.
  • Generate is metered (credits). Empty balance → 402, not a silent retry loop.
  • One video path. No model picker.
  • Catalog is reference only, not film redistribution. See catalog policy.
  • Rate limits: 1 concurrent job on Creator (same as the app).
