How does reference search work?

Search a cinematic catalog by look, technique, brand or title.

Last updated August 26, 2026

The catalog is searched the way a director talks: a look, a technique, a brand, a film title, or a mood. Searching for a neon night street returns frames that match the light and the framing, not just images tagged with those words.

Results are drawn from several sources at once and mixed, so a single search can return film stills, motion references and brand work side by side. Each result carries tags for lighting, shot size and mood, which is usually the fastest way to narrow down.

Free accounts get five searches a day. Paid plans are unmetered on search. See plans and prices.
