What does the directing agent do?

It turns your references and your ask into a shot plan you can review.

Last updated August 26, 2026

The agent is not a prompt box. You tell it what the shot should do, it reads the references you have pinned, and it writes a shot plan — the brief that actually gets rendered.

A shot plan is reviewable before anything is generated. You can open it, change a section, ask for a different plan, ask for more references, or refine the ask. When it looks right, generate from it.

If the agent asks a question before generating, it is usually missing the one thing it cannot infer, most often the storyline or the tone. A one-line answer is enough.
